Asian Cooking Style


In Asia, cooking is the main activity beside keep the house clean and nice. You name it; Vietnamese, Malaysian, Indonesian and so on, their food is rich with variety of seasoning. Each country has their own unique food and cooking technique. Asian cooking style is different from western style.

The largest island in Asia is China and Indonesia. Many people know well about Chinese food but not Indonesian food. Indonesia consists of 26 provinces from Sumatra Island (west) to Papua (East). The variety of the food is so diverse. Let’s say in Java Island, the main seasoning is salt, sugar, small red onion (sweet), garlic, big red chili, ginger, coriander, and so on. All the seasoning, they blend together, it looks so thick and tasty then they will mix it with coconut milk or just stir fry. The smell is so good. They can cook it with vegetable like water spinach, cabbage, king Choy, spinach, meat, fish and so forth. White rice is number one carbohydrate for them. Accompany with nice hot tea, hmmmm……. it is perfect. Do not get burn! In Asia, chili is the must seasoning in almost every dish. So be ready get burn. But do not worry; drinking young coconut ice, it will soothe you.
